When love has fled, when love has gone...

(English translation of 'Pues si el amor huyó, pues si el amor se fue' by León de Greiff)

When love has fled, when love has gone...
let's leave it behind and go with the grief,
and embrace life with a calm unease,
and cry a little bit for what was...
when love has fled, when love has gone...

Let's leave it behind and go with the grief...
let's go to Nirvana or the kingdom of Thule,
into the smoke of opium and aroma of coffee,
and embrace life with a calm unease!

And let's cry a little for what was...
for the simple love, for the beloved so good,
for the beloved so good, with lily-white hands...
My heart lies! I'll always love her!
