She Sang
She sang: like no bird has sung
higher than a snowy peak
her voice in the clear air
clearer than air
She sang: like no-one has sung
for words were taken
beyond words to
words not heard before
She sang: like her voice was light
all light and alight
and we all sang with her
(although we didn't sing)
She sang: like her song was spun
into whirling rings
of the all inside all there is
for as long as
she sang
