Deaths Of Poets
It's not true that all poets
died early from sickness
or were victims
of violent deaths.
Many of them lived on
and their lives might
have been further
prolonged
if they'd received expensive treatment.
Whatever life they had,
books contain their remains,
bookshelves are their final resting places.
Some lovers of poetry can become
overly sentimental about poets -
a poet's death may be sad
but you can always get another one.
