Night bird

The night is her kingdom where she flies at will,
Slipping to the room of the beautiful princess.
She poisons her sleeping head with whispering caress,
While the king and queen are softly sleeping still.

She’s flying over the castle of the lord,
Calling to the runaway children by his door,
So come with me in your dreams, you’ll never be poor,
While the guard is sleeping over his sword.

(Chorus)
There’s no harm will come to you,
Just you do what I say to do,
Oh, oh, oh , oh, oh, oh, I give you my word...
Take me in your open arms,
I’ll love you to till the daytime comes,
Come into the kingdom of the night bird.

The night bird is swooping over the market place,
Hears the merchants calling from a sea of stalls.
Sees the richman in his castle, the thief under his walls,
Finds the comedy in every human face.

The dancing girls out of their windows peer,
They call to the men who are standing in the street.
There’s the beating of her wings in our own heart beat,
She’s never seen, but we all can hear...

(Chorus)
There’s no harm will come to you,
Just you do what I say to do,
Oh, oh, oh , oh, oh, oh, I give you my word...
Take me in your open arms,
I’ll love you to till the daytime comes,
Come into the kingdom of the night bird,
Come into the kingdom of the night bird,
Come into the kingdom of the night bird.
