My body dissolved

My body dissolved between your fingers,
it was a piece of dirt, ash,
my arms drifted away in the wind,
my breasts and my lips with the breeze.
On the ground my back and hips
that you trampled on while laughing,
my legs, my hair, my knees,
flew into a forest that was free from hurt.
My head and my eyes exploded
at the touch of prickly ferns.
All of me dissolved,
save for my heart which fell to the ground,
buried itself, germinated, sprouted again ...
and was blood in your hands, a whole body.

English translation by Paul Archer of 'Mi cuerpo se deshizo' by Conchi da Silva.
