The balcony at the end of the world

Lean out from the balcony at the end of the world
climb over the railing of your fears
leap into the darkness, mourn your dead
sing while you smash into the ground.

Cut your wrists with your fingers
let the universe trample you down
hang from a noose of disgust and grief
drown in a river of silence.

Paint all your body in quicklime
to erase the marks of the past,
lie and tell people you're dead,
take care your pain does no harm.

Forgive those who do not forgive you
and then kill them, without leaving a trace.

English translation by Paul Archer of 'El balcón del fin del mundo' by Conchi da Silva.
